Forever Open Optimus RP Post
Open Optimus RP post Hey, I don't really play Optimus in any games at the moment, but that doesn't mean I want to stop playing him! So bring your characters, give me a situation, and I'll be happy to roleplay the big guy with you! | |
WE'RE GONNA FINALLY DO THESE FUCKIN LANTERNS
[Rodimus stood kneeled over one of them, trying to figure out the best way to illuminate the thing without setting the whole lantern on fire. He held it in his hand, manipulating it and rotating it impatiently.]
[He still doesn't understand why they had to be made of paper. There's far less flammable materials out there okay?]

Especially not to young Primes in training.
Optimus arrives, spotting Rodimus kneeled over the outstretched display of lanterns, eyes flicking a shade brighter. While he knew Rodimus would be here, it warmed his spark to have that confirmed. It showed that Rodimus truly wanted to do this.
To respect those who had left this city.
His advance is all but quiet as he approaches, standing before the young Prime.]
You seem perplexed.
[Always short on words, this one.]

[Rodimus rotates that lantern in every which way, almost like he was manhandling a Rubik's Cube. A paper Rubik's Cube.]
The little paper part thing won't come off so I'm trying to figure out how to light these.
[He didn't have a welding torch hand like Ratchet. Nonetheless, he stops what he's doing to properly greet Optimus, setting the lantern down and standing up.]
I'll figure it out.

But when he stands up, there's the hint of a smile. One only a trained eye could find.]
It appears the lanterns only have one particular side that is open.
[There's a moment where the Prime bends down, gently taking a lantern between two fingers, to turn it to show it's open side. Yep. That's all you're getting Rodimus. You're going to have to be delicate on this one.]
no subject
[No of course he's not. He really does only have like a foot of space to aim the nozzles of his flamethrowers.]
[Rodimus is pretty sure one of the three flamethrower nozzle is 1 ft in diameter goddamnit.]
We have spare lanterns, right?
[He meets Optimus' smile with bright optics. Eager, but a little uncertain.]
no subject
And without hesitating, places the lantern in it.]
I'm afraid these are the only ones, Rodimus.
[While not as obviously eager as the other's, Optimus's eyes are flickering just as brightly. Although his is for an entirely different reason.]
You will have to use the utmost care and control.

Got it. No screw-ups.
[Well. Optimus was clearly waiting for him to ace this - and it felt rather silly letting himself get so worked up over a paper lantern.]
[But it had a lot of significance to him, Optimus, and the members of the City.]
[So he's going to hover the barrels of his flame thrower and start to warm up the pipes gradually.]
no subject
Mm.
[He's glad to see Rodimus adapt so easily to those parameters. While he wouldn't exactly tell the young Prime, he was giving him a minor test. To see how he'd fair should this happen in a more dire situation. Rodimus was a quick thinker, though, and more importantly, didn't seem to work himself up over the assignment.
His eyes flick to the barrels on the other's arm, watching. It was obviously something for Rodimus alone, but it was oddly fascinating. How well it fit with the bot's personality, that is.
But if Rodimus thinks he has to do this alone...]
We will do it together.
[As Primes.]
