Forever Open Optimus RP Post
Open Optimus RP post Hey, I don't really play Optimus in any games at the moment, but that doesn't mean I want to stop playing him! So bring your characters, give me a situation, and I'll be happy to roleplay the big guy with you! | |
H-Hope you don't mind, Pre-Series-ish??
What could they do? They were far larger than some of these human structures. And they were so dainty and poorly build sometimes. But Ratchet was thankful, for the most part, to be inside the base for most of the time. The less he had to deal with humans.
Ratchet found himself tinkering with the computer, trying to pick up any Decepticon signals while the team was off for a energon source. Optimus, from what he knew, was off on one of his rides. It was times like this that Ratchet would think back to good old days. The days in which they weren't hiding on some small rock, having to keep themselves under the radar. While it was a smart choice, it made the medic frustrated sometimes. His hands groan as they ball into fists at the console, eyes idly glancing over data.]
I DONT MIND AT ALL 8DDD
And whatever free time the Autobots were allowed to have, his was spent searching. Looking for any Autobot refugees, sending out signals. Making sure Decepticon activity was at it's low.
These drives...they were all he had sometimes. That and his talks with the medic. Despite his disgruntled nature towards everything, Optimus had a certain fondness for the medic. The one who'd stayed by his side for so long during the war. Loyalty like that was something else he treasured, just like his drives.
When the semi pulls into view, he immediately transforms, stepping over towards Ratchet's monitors to peer into them. Optimus was a bot of few words, but those he said held a lot of weight in conversation.]
Ratchet. Is there any news from the others? Or of refugees, for that matter.
EXCUSE MY HTML FAIL THERE...
Ratchet lets a small sigh escape his vents as he looks over his shoulder at the Prime before facing him. His head shakes, shoulders slumping a fraction.]
I'm afraid not, Optimus. It's been quiet all day.
[Outwardly at least it was. His head had been buzzing with questions, comments, and exclamations about this rock in which they now took refuge on. Only until the other bot came in did the 'noise' quiet down.]
ITS NO WORRIES REALLY c:
[That would mean two things. One, that their own squad was completing their rounds as necessary. And two, that the Decepticons were laying low. A day without having to leap into a possible crisis for the planet was a day Optimus would take.
But he notices Ratchet's quizzical appearance, despite attempts to hide it. So he can't help but tilt his head in question.]
There is something troubling you, old friend.
no subject
The medic glances back at Optimus, almost hesitant.]
Adjusting to this world is-- [The monitors flicker and beep a few times. Ratchet cringes and smacks the primitive technology a few times before it's monitors remain constant. Blasted human tech...]
...more difficult than I had imagined.
no subject
So I am noticing. Ratchet, if there is anything I can do that will make your stay more...tolerable...
[He sees the monitor smack and gently takes his hand, lowering it. He's giving you that puppy face, Ratchet. Can you handle it?]
You only need inform me.
no subject
It's alright. Like I said, I'm still adjusting. Not only that, you have more things to worry about than my silly needs.
Keeping Megatron and his Decepticons at bay is our top priority.
no subject
Mmm. Perhaps I could see if there is a more efficient way of combining our technology with the human's. We would not want problems at a crucial period.
...
[His eyes glance back at the medic, though.]
We should utilize the time we have.
no subject
I've been working on them all day. They still flicker and the--
[Suddenly, hundreds of pop ups appear in which cause the medic to lean back. Human advertisements. Ratchet could feel his entire frame rattle with frustration as he taps on the keyboard, trying to close the windows. Thankfully everything was still online.]
Then this happens. [He grumbles, watching as a few windows close.]
no subject
[His eyes flick up at the pop-ups, brow actually raised at some of them. While Optimus didn't openly express himself, he can't help but wonder what exactly someone was to do with half of these contraptions.
Earth customs. Something he will probably never understand completely.]
Perhaps some time away from the monitors would be...beneficial.
[See: he has a task for you.]
no subject
What would you have me do?
no subject
Perhaps I could use a checkup.
no subject
Ratchet gestures over to his medical area.]
Of course, we're a bit over due for our second check ups while on Earth. Have a seat and we can get started.
no subject
It is paramount that we maintain our physical health as best we can.
[Especially since their Energon reserves were touch and go as far as availability.]
no subject
I couldn't have said it better myself. [Ratchet says as he takes out his hand held scanner. He taps a few buttons before takes up Optimus' arm first, scanning the joint of his elbow and shoulder, entirely gentle as he did so. And he does the same with his other arm.]
How are you feeling overall? Any fatigue?
no subject
Something he knew.]
None to report. Although the climate is much harsher on our systems than we are accustomed to. Regular maintenance will have to be performed.
no subject
I believe our phyisicals should be every month, at least until we're more accustomed to our new... surroundings.
no subject
[It's said warmly, as his eyes track his own vitals. Everything seemed to be in working order, as he'd expected. But he wasn't one to assume things, especially on an alien planet.]
Have you been keeping up with your own systems, I wonder.
no subject
...Let's worry about you first.
no subject
[He didn't know what the scanner was saying, but the unchanging expression on the medic's face showed that so far, he had nothing serious to worry about. Ratchet on the other hand...was notorious for neglecting his own care in the face of others.
That was where Optimus stepped in. In his own way, of course.]
A medic in top condition is just as important as a warrior. Moreso, even.
[You're important to us.]
no subject
A leader is most important right now, Optimus. [He says as his optics glance over to his leader.]
Especially with a new territory like this planet Earth.
[A few more taps of the keyboard and Optimus' data disappears from the screen. He places the sanner back down on his nearby table.]
You're more important right now Optimus. Without you, in your best shape, who knows where this team could be now.
no subject
[The tone is soft, almost...teasing. It's rare, coming from Optimus, who rarely spoke above vague interest. And following that is his hand reaching over to take the scanner, holding it firmly in his fingers.]
You are just as important as I am, Ratchet.
no subject
Well.. [He sighs heavily, his joints creaking a little as he does so, shoulders slumping.] Someone has to keep you in check when it comes to your health.
[His face soon turns stern.]
If for some reason you were to be gone... No one would listen to a lousy medic. We would all be in disarray without you, Optimus.
no subject
[A hand gently nudges Ratchet to the seat he was in, reversing the situation in a way that wasn't too intrusive. Gentle, guiding motions. That was always how Optimus did things--gently, but with a leadership air to them.
That scanner is held up, running diagnostics on him soon enough.]
Our medic would have to be there to make sure of that.
no subject
So far, everything was looking good.
Ratchet peeks up at Optimus, almost as if he were a child in time out.]
You don't have to... [Ratchet mumbles. He could do it himself...]
